The Gandhi Tour benefit Event

(New York, NY): On October 10th, the Gandhi Tour, Dr. Arun Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, and Avon Mattison, Founder of Culture of Peace and Cofounder of 30 Days of Peace, will host a benefit at the Donna Karan/Stephan Weiss Studio/NY to raise funds for The Gandhi Tour in 2008.
The Gandhi Tour benefit will take place on the last day of the United Nations 30 Days of Peace, and will be MCed by its Cofounder, Avon Mattison. The schedule for the evening includes a VIP “Mahatma” Meet and Greet with Dr. Gandhi from 6pm to 7pm. Doors open to the public at 7pm, and the evening’s program includes a keynote address by Dr. Gandhi; a screen projection message from Mahatma Gandhi about the need for peaceful solutions to conflict; and live performances by the internationally renowned yogic chanter and musician Krishna Das and 1001Ways world music fusion band direct from Switzerland with there multimedia program “Gandhi” as well Didgeridoo Player Wayne Warwick Williams. Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be provided throughout. An on-going silent auction of donated products and services will be held during the event, with corporate donations provided by ABC Home, the Swiss Embassy and AquaMantra.
