The ethno-fusion-group 1001 Ways, is well know for their commitment to peace. International media presence was attained at the launch of the Gandhi Tour at Earth Dance Peace Festival California on the occasion of the 100 Years of Non-violence festivities featuring Dr. Arun Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi’s grandson in Sept 2006.
Now the band is invited to London.
On April 12th 2008 they will be performing in the historical Kingsley Hall, where Mahatma Gandhi used to lodge during his stays in England. This performance is part of the Gandhi Tour event for London’s “Festival of Nonviolence” hosted by Lord Richard Attenborough's Gandhi Foundation celebrating the 60th anniversary of Mahatma’s death. A tree will be planted, replanted would be the correct expression, as the original, planted by the Mahatma himself, has withered away in the meantime.
Lately 1001 Ways performed at the Gandhi Tour benefit event at Donna Karan’s Steven Weiss Studio in New York and Medallion Entertainment Gala in Hollywood.
